We pride ourself working throughout Tàmaki Makaurau and are committed to actively supporting the local Màori of Tàmaki Makaurau.
Director Gary Almond’s stepfather of 20 years is of Màori decent, growing up on the East Coast of New Zealand. Gary understands the importance of supporting young tamariki for a better Aotearoa.
A number of projects we have worked on have had crucial development aspects that continue to support the local community long after our mahi is finished. We are always honoured when we can be a part of something that continues supporting sustainable developments that benefit vulnerable tamariki.

We believe we have a responsibility in a low carbon future. Sustainable practices and decisions must be embedded in the way we work and do business as the future of our industry depends on making positive changes for sustainability now.
We have several sustainability measures in place; including a 2040 Zero Waste target, where our goal is to minimise waste generation and waste to landfill while maximising resource recovery to achieve New Zealand’s future sustainability goals.
We are continuously keeping an eye on developments in the ‘green’ technology world, including battery and hydrogen-powered equipment. We purchase plant and equipment that has approved end-of-life solutions, are made to last and are climate conscious meeting Euro 5 Emissions Standards. Unwanted materials are donated to community recycling centers where they can be reused, repurposed and recycled.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
Health and Safety at Almond Contractors is at the top of the list to ensure our team get home safely every day.
We are continuously looking for more ways to improve our Health and Safety processes, training and courses.
We meet all Tier 1 Health and Safety regulations set to the highest standards which is proven by working with tier 1 contractors, Downer, McConnell Dowell, Auckland Council and Fulton Hogan.
All of our plants have approaching lights, handrails, spotlights, reversing cameras, emergency kill switches, isolating switches, squawkers and certified lift points.
